as long as you just use a little , your clothes will not smell like it. add the soap , and then when it starts the wash cycle add some baking soda and vinegar. should help you out. When you wash clothes with vinegar...?
Though I have not heard of vinegar being used to prevent fading, vinegar added to your regular wash along with your regular detergent will remove mildew odor from clothes. No smell of vinegar remains following the rinse cycle. The amount of vinegar you use is dependent on the size of the load. For a regular large load, 1/2 cup of vinegar is enough. If you have an extra large capacity washer and are filling it up, then 1 cup of vinegar can be used.
wash your clothes in warm to cold water the usual way, then add the white vinegar in the final rinse
Its stops from fading but please don't use this for cloths use it for making tye dye shirts.
