What's the deal with apple cider vinegar to wash your hair?

My friend told me that using apple cider vinegar cleans all the product build up off your hair, and gets rid of the ';hard minerals'; or something. True?

How much should I use? I have really long hair, so should I do it root to tip or just at the roots? What's the deal with apple cider vinegar to wash your hair?
apple cidar vinegar does not strip your hair. It restores the natural ph of your hair and clarifies the scalp. You only need to dilute about 1tblespoon of apple cidar vinegar with two cups of warm water and pour over your scalp. It will smell initially but the smell will go away once your hair is dry. You do the ACV rinse after you condition your hair.

You should do this about once a month or whenever your hair has a lot of buildup. What's the deal with apple cider vinegar to wash your hair?
ah vinegar shines your hair better that any chemical product have use it for years i am 55 and have never had to colour my hair it is a loverly rich auburn with hardly any grey go for it i add about 4 tablespoons to final rinse (about a pint of water)
It is an accidict solution that will strip oils and organics off the hair. make sure you wash it out quickly after applying as it might bleach or lighten your hair. just do it no more than monthly and use only tablespoon with shampoo and rince very good.
it does work but it strips so much and after your hair just feels so lifeless...it tends to lighten it too...if your curious wat it will do...take a strand of your hair and try it..(just grab a piece thats under and in the back) use the vinegar like a shampoo
It totally brings more oil and grease NO WAY
it sounds like it would strip more than product build up and strip your hair oils too, i wouldnt do it.
