I bought an electric kettle that has a chrome coil at the bottom which heats the water. To clean the water stains on the sides of the kettle, I used boiled vinegar and water. The water stains went away but the coil turned blue. Is it safe to continue using the kettle to boil water?Is it safe to use a tea kettle whos chrome coil turned blue after washing it with water and vinegar?
Perfectly safe. The discolouration is caused by the acetic acid in the vinegar and it is merely that, a discolouration.
