Red Vinegar Wash?

I just bought Red Wine Vinegar and White Distilled Vinegar. I know that if you wash your hair with either one of these, they will act like a shampoo and will give you subtle highlights. I'm a brunette and I know I have to use the red vinegar. How much do I use, as in tablespoons, cups? And how often? And do I mix it with shampoo? AND is Red Wine Vinegar the right one? if you have long hair use 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 cup of water, slightly less for shorter hair and you do not need to mix it with shampoo. do this once a week.
